Community Peace Projects

  • Safety

This ministry began as a reaction to the rise in Anti-Asian violence occurring in the Chinatown community. As a church, we saw a community that was hurting. The Safety ministry aims to ensure that both the physical and mental well being of the Chinatown community are provided for, that during these trying times, our neighbors felt supported and loved.

This ministry provides structured safety walks in cooperation with the local police department, these walks include door to door visits building and nurturing relations between the Chinatown inhabitants, local law enforcement and our church.

We also help organize community safety seminars and panels. These seminars focus on teaching the Chinatown community how to keep their homes safe and to create spaces for dialogue between the community and local law enforcement, a safe space where they can voice their concerns and feel heard.

  • New Name sex worker outreach

Ellen and Simon Yu have been leading a group to do outreach to those potentially involved with sex trafficking in our neighborhood.

The ministry involves going to spas and bringing gift bags that contain Bible Sticks (USB drives that have an audio Bible in their language) and other little gift items like fruits, toiletries, candy. While there, they attempt to build relationship with the women, share the gospel with them, offer prayer for them and invite them to church functions and gatherings.

This ministry is partnered with the NewName organization, a Christian non-profit outreach organization focused on aiding and reaching out to women in the adult industry.

  • Good News Jail and prison Ministry

Good News Jail and Prison Ministry is an extension of God’s love and grace to those incarcerated in Chicago.

The Good News Jail & Prison Ministry partners with prison chaplains to provide support to those in juvenile detention through prayer meetings, bible studies, and fellowship.

  • Court advocacy

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.
