Three missionary groups (the Presbyterian, Baptist and Congregationalist)
came together back in 1903 with a burden and vision to reach the increasing
number of Chinese immigrants to the Chicago area that had begun to settle
in what is present-day Chinatown. They sensed the suffering and desperation
of these folks and felt a desire to meet their physical needs as well as
their spiritual needs. Today, after 105 years, CCUC strives to continue
upholding this vision.
